There are always challenges we’re facing, writer’s block to overcome, and sounds that aren’t quite right; in community, we will find our way forward, together.
Where has our collective community gone — a home for belonging, contribution, and companionship?
In 2008, we informally developed a safe space for sharing our musical insights and exploits. We created Rosefinch in 2020 to formalize our purpose, and we would love your help to fully realize our commitment to bringing people together through music.
Whether you’re a background listener or enthusiast, storyteller or musician, composer or songwriter, when we lean into our creative community, our ideas flourish through encouragement and critique: refinement to full realization.
Instead of spamming self-promotion, let’s engage by sharing the story behind our work. What have we struggled with, and what have we implemented up to this point? Ask for feedback on which elements, instruments, and devices are missing or overpronounced. Stick your neck out and also hold empathy.
If you’re a background listener, what song did you hear recently that inspired you? Or one that maybe wasn’t to your taste? A music enthusiast? Tell us why you think 1959 was the best year for jazz.
Storytellers, what’s your next project? What message are you looking to bring to the world and how can we contribute?
Songwriters, what’s a lyric that’s challenging you? We can overcome the dreaded “second verse curse” together. If you’re a composer, what style have you been exploring lately? Write a prompt for us, and let’s co-create something magnetic.
We’re planning to share more of our music with you, as well, especially how we progress from mere ideas to publishing to the masses. There are always challenges we’re facing, writer’s block to overcome, and sounds that aren’t quite right; in community, we will find our way forward, together.
